Block 4 will have a quiz of 20-22 pts at the end of class on 7.1-3. Best way to study: rework HW #1 and #2. Make sure you can do a shadow problem like HW #3. Go back and find the ratio and proportion warm-up from Jan 9-10. It is available in the online textbook. Instructions for finding it are at the bottom of the 1st post. Answers attached below.
Answers to HW #2 are attached below also.
We warmed up with two important things. One was some triangle similarity shortcuts from the board (attached below). The other was a dilation activity on the Chromebooks. Then there are two problems for homework on a small worksheet (the worksheet is attached below) as well as textbook problems over indirect measurement (shadows/ mirrors) and corresponding parts of similar triangles (have the same ratio as the sides). HW #3 - 2 problems on worksheet plus p 388: 1-7, 10-11, and p 394: 1-6.

QUIZ TOPICS:
- Solve a proportion algebraically with a + or - sign in it,
- Write and solve a proportion from a story (these are from warm-up in block 1)
- Are these figures similar, why or why not, and which figures? (HW #1)
- Find missing information in similar figures based on proportions. (HW #2 and 3)
- Are the triangles similar? Which shortcut?
- Indirect measurement shadow problem.
- Dilation w/ no coordinates: where is the center OR here is the center and a triangle, find the new one by a scale factor of .5 or 2. (HW #3 worksheet)
