Happy Valentine's Day!
I had been planning to test on the 15th block (next Thurs-Fri).
I may be ready to do that in 0B, but not 1st-3rd because of my absence. So sorry to abandon you all on the day that you needed to really understand how easy the trig ratios are. Hopefully the class went well.
The warm-up and answers are attached.
Answers to HW #10 are attached.
Students read about angle of elevation and depression in class and worked on problems from the book where a sketch would be helpful (real world problems).
In the new textbook, the reading and example are on p 590. The problems are pp 591-2: 10-13, 15. Make a good labeled sketch. Show the equation you write (a sine, cosine, or tangent "story"). Rearrange to solve for x.
Answers: 10) appr 655 m, 11) appr 101 m, 12) appr 65 m, 13) appr 188 m, 15) appr 1570 m.
Also in class for those in 1st through 3rd: p 528: 1-8. FOR 0B, p 528: 1-8 is HW #11a.
If you were absent, you need to get all of these done.
0B also did some of the coordinate on the circle problems from a worksheet in class.
I will have a practice quiz next time over HW #9, but it will not count for points. We will work further on trigonometry.
0B will work on unit review.
