Today we concluded our third block on rigid transformations.
Our big goals:
We also got some hints for the quiz in Block 4 - 18 pts
1) Know your vocabulary from 1st day note-building activity (fill-in-the-blank).
2) Multiple choice over basics of rigid transformations (what do I mean by "scratch graph"?)
3) One open response where a graph is required (extra space for graphing on other problems).
If you have rotations on your homework, continue to use patty paper for that.
The homework and worksheet are attached in the next blog post down. Pick up patty paper or graph paper from my room if you forgot it.
Our big goals:
- Discover and apply what it means for two figures to be congruent based on rigid transformations
- Reflect across lines that are not an axis using visual properties of reflections (write equation of that line)
- Think about translations from several approaches: words, algebraic rule, physical vector, vector rule, working backwards to get pre-image
- Develop personal preferences for thinking about and performing rigid transformations.
