TEST TOPICS HAD MISTAKES - see attachment below.
Review day! Class began with reading a short paragraph "proof" based on similarity (p 396) and using this as a guide to determine similar triangles and justify why you know on 3 different problems. A grade was taken on HW #4, and then thoughts were shared on the three explanations. (10 pts of unit test are like this).
We learned more about the segment that is an altitude from the right angle of a right triangle (what is the geometric mean? where do I see this in geometry?). We practiced it and had some to try on a worksheet.
We went over homework #4 in detail. Make sure you know the difference between problems 1-3 and the rest of the page 400.
We practice dilation in the coordinate plane with 3 practice problems.
Then we had an in-class review worksheet that will be completed in the next class. It is attached below. Answers to the first page are attached also.
HW #5 is the unit review from the textbook: pp 404-6: 1-3, 6-7, 8 (on 8 only give scale factor and center, not rule), 9-18, 20,22, 26-27.
