Today we began a new unit... it's all about triangles.
Our goal to discover or prove some things that are true about triangles:
C-17 - The sum of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees. (Investigation p 199, proof from class)
C-18 - If two pairs of angles from two different triangles are congruent, then the third angles are also congruent. (Argued deductively from groups in class) (p 200)
We went over HW and tried p 201: 6 with a partner, shared thoughts.
Copy labeled sketch of the parts of Isosceles Triangle from p 204 into Geometric Truth. Be able to use these words when describing sketches.
C-19 If a triangle is isosceles, then its base angles are congruent. (patty paper investigation on p 205)
C-20 (converse) If two angles of a triangle are congruent, then the triangle is isosceles. (compass construction on p 206).
Some classes viewed their test scores. If you have not taken your test, take by Wednesday. Come during advisory to view tests that are very low and need to be re-taken.
We previewed the deeper questions on the homework.
HW #1b - p 201-2:7-10, p 206-7: 1-8. On the questions with multiple angles, write what you put in your calculator so that you can figure out your mistakes. Be sure to look for bigger triangles. Be sure to look for congruent sides which will give you congruent base angles.
No attachments. Everything you need is written above.
Quiz Fri-Mon over 4.1-3 - 22 pts
