PAY ATTENTION! Except for 1st and 2nd block, every class is in a different place and has different homework. You will have to read carefully to find your assignment.
Our current topic: naming of solids (____hedron, ______ prism, _____ pyramid, etc.), Volume of prisms and cylinders: V = BH, where B is the area of the base and H is the perpendicular height of the solid; volume of pyramids and cones: V = 1/3 BH.
You still need to know all of your area formulas from your notes for the area unit because those will be used for the B in the formulas above.
In 4th period, we did not get to pyramids and cones because of tornado warning. So 4th period HW #12b is p 550: 1-6, 8-15.
On B day, 0B is trying to get ahead because of early finals.
Zero Hour: added "cone" and a better definition of "cylinder" to geometric truth, shared about figures that we already defined and their parts, practiced a bit of naming and sketching, and then worked on volume formulas for prisms, cylinders, pyramids, and cones. 0B also learned about solids of revolution (take a 2 dimensional figure in coordinate plane, spin around axis, find volume).
We practiced in class and need to finish if you did not: p 445: 1-6, and p 450: 1-6. This was also practiced in 1st and 2nd period, who took notes from the board about how to find these volumes. (These notes are not available here... please get from a friend... very simple.) 6th period was also assigned the same practice in class. 4th period did not get any practice and only learned about prism and cylinder volume.
0B HW #11b: Finish p 450:1-6 and p 455: 1-6. Also assigned: p 545: 8-15, p 550: 7-9, 14, 16.
1st and 2nd did not get quite as far. Their homework is the same as 0B, it is just numbered 12b instead of 11b.
A grade was taken over the unit review.
NEXT ASSESSMENT UPCOMING: UNIT CIRCLE QUIZ ON MON-TUES - 24 PTS. 6 PROBLEMS JUST LIKE UNIT CIRCLE PROBLEMS ON THE LAST TEST.
