Today we got into Law of Sines in detail. The proof of the area formula based on sine and the Law of Sines is in the textbook on p 462. Or in the online textbook, choose Chapter 6 and then scroll down to the last choice on the chapter menu.
HW #4 is pp 406-7: 1-5, 8, 11, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30, 32, 37, 39, 41, 45, 47, 48.
We went over the worksheet HW #3 and reviewed the content about area and the Law of Sines from the old Discovering Geometry book. A grade was taken for 4 pts.
Then Ms. Bogart did a demonstration with compass and straightedge of "given SSA" how many different triangles could you make (2 or 1 or none).
Be sure to refer to the chart on p 402 to help you know how many possible angles to look for on SSA with Law of Sines.
After lunch we worked on notes and practice of the different uses and cases for the Law of Sines. Then we worked on the textbook assignment while quizzes were returned.
Our notes are attached. The unit assignments are attached. Mr. Townsend's note sheets are attached. Answers to his sheets are attached.
The quiz over 6.1 will be Monday, January 28. A note sheet will be printed on the quiz. I will show you this next time.
