This block was our quiz over 3.2 - logarithmic functions.
We went over worksheets 1 & 2; then did Worksheet #3 in class and checked it. We also solved some logarithmic equations that were quadratic and shared the idea that you cannot take a log of a negative number.
Notes were written over types of linear functions, how you interpret and write and convert between them.
Those notes are attached below as well as the answers to Worksheet #3 (the worksheet is on the previous post).
HW #7 pp 32-33 (section 1.3) - 1-6, 45-48 (write in point-slope form), 55-56 (find in point-slope, change to standard), 65-68, 73-74, 88, 96.
Not mentioned in notes: rate of change is just a way of talking about slope in real-world situations. Frequently the axes have different increments appropriate to the context.
We then took the quiz 3.2 for 34 pts.
Next block: we will do more with linear and piecewise and absolute value functions. There will be a quiz on Monday over linear, absolute value and piecewise. We are also learning about difference quotient on Thursday and Monday and Wednesday, with a quiz at the end of class on Wednesday.
