Today in class we focused on trying to make sure that we understood the homework and our mistakes on it. Ms. Bogart went over homework problems that she thought might be particularly IMPORTANT (she loves that word).
We worked on a graphing activity to graph the sine function y=sin x and cosine function y= cos x to help create some usable notes for the next section (4.5) where we begin to graph and transform trigonometric functions. They are PERIODIC. There is a set of values that repeats. Our job was to realize the connection to the unit circle: input to the function is radians, output is x coordinates for cosine, y coordinates for sine.
You can look this up online to find more information if you need it to finish the activity.
Then we used the last 40 minutes to take a quiz over the newest material (4.4 - trig ratios in any quadrant, reference angles).
The only homework is to finish the activity.
Here is a link to help you understand:
Check boxes for "trace" and "animate" after picking either sine or cosine.
The quizzes are posted. Unfortunately.
Make sure you have HW #1 for me to check when you come to class. There are clearly a few of you who did not do it.
