We are getting close!!!
The review assignment is due on the following days for each class:
0B is due Monday, May 13.
1st, 2nd, and 4th are due Tuesday, May 14.
6th is due Wednesday, May 15.
Here is the review assignment: p 578-9: 1-12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29. Show work.
Block 40 for 4th period included learning about surface area of a sphere. SA is 4*pi*r^2. SA of a hemisphere is 3*pi*r^2. (The base is an extra circle.) Block 40 for 6th period involved learning about both volume and surface area of spheres. See previous post for more formulas. 4th period did 4 problems from p 567 to practice surface area. 6th period did 1-6 on p 563 and 1-6 on p 567-8 in class to practice volume and surface area. 6th period needs to finish their problems from class as well as the homework assigned.
In all but 6th we did the following problems in class: p 560:9, p 467:5-6, p 564: 8,15, p 555:12. If you were not here, you need to do those problems. Some classes had already done some of these for homework (0B for sure).
0B will quiz for their next block. All other classes will have one more day of wrap-up for the unit, with some trig ratio practice thrown in.
Everyone got to see their unit circle quiz today. I will try to have all grades posted before I leave school on Fri, May 10.
HW #14 or #15, (depending on your class period) - is p 567-8: 6,8,10, p 564: 7, 9-13, 17, p 555:10-11. Some classes may have already done some of these problems. If so, do not do them again. 6th needs to finish the problems mentioned above, plus these from the previous list: p 568:10, p 564: 7, 9-13, 17.
Some answers: p 568: 6 - SA is 144 Pi or 452.4 square cm; 8 - 2 gallons, 10 a) appr 3082 square feet, b) 13 gallons, c) 9568 bushels. p 564: 7) 18 Pi or appr 56.6 cubic meters, 9) 148/3 Pi cubic meters or about 155; 10) the same volume; 11) 9 in, 12) 3 cm; 13) 8193/3 Pi cubic cm or appr 8579 ; 17) lithium. p 554: 10) appr 1502 lbs, 11) appr 192.4 gal. (Conversions are in the text above the problems... get cubic feet and convert.)
