There is a quiz on Friday and Monday, about 24 pts, over the first 3 homeworks and one "shadow" problem like HW #4. There will be one dilation problem on the quiz.
We used problem 7 on our homework to learn about the three similar triangles created when an altitude is dropped from the right angle of a right triangle. We also used a mirror to apply and sketch and solve indirect measurement.
We investigated the properties of midsegments of triangles:
The three midsegments of a triangle divide it into four congruent triangles. A midsegment of a triangle is parallel to and half the length of its third side.
HW #4 - p 275:1-4, p 575-7:8-11,13,15, p 582:1-4 (sketch these last four). If you are solving for a missing side, write a proportion to solve the problem.
A grade was taken over HW #3 for 4 pts.
