Today we quizzed over area: using formulas to work backwards to a dimension, finding area by formula or other methods - 28 pts. These should be graded next block. Please come ASAP to make up if you missed it.
Today we learned a little bit about solid geometry: polyhedrons, prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones, and spheres, faces, edges and vertices of polyhedrons, and naming by number of faces. We learned that the volume of a prism or cylinder is just the area of the base times the height of the solid. On the homework, the formulas should just be the formula you know for a base, times the height.
HW #8, due next block:
p 450:4-6, p 509:10-22 (matching), pp 517-8: 1-6, 11-13. Show work on all but matching.
