IF YOU HAVE NOT YET TAKEN YOUR POLYGON ALGEBRA QUIZ, YOU MUST DO SO ASAP!!! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE AN ADVISORY TIME!
Today in class we shared circle vocabulary labeling and definitions, practiced an "open response" question, and then spent most of class working on area.
We approached area from different perspectives and practiced finding area by a variety of methods: surrounding rectangle and subtraction, decomposing a figure into small parts that are simple to find, formulas, sliding vertex in a triangle or parallelogram, etc.
We then looked at how those formulas were derived in order to make sense of kite, triangle, rhombus, trapezoid, regular polygon, and parallelogram.
HW #5: pp 413-5: 1-13, 16-19, 24. Show use of formula if solving for a dimension. Show how you got your answers.
