Today was our third day of constructions, and no homework was assigned because we are working with compasses in class.
We will wind up constructions on Tuesday, October 11, with a short quiz (about 20 pts) that contains 4 constructions and a few vocabulary related questions.
Need to know how to:
construct equilateral triangle
copy and add segments
construct perpendicular bisector of a segment
bisect and angle
Vocabulary: perpendicular bisector, angle bisector, midpoint, line, segment, ray, arc, circle (recognize or explain what is true). For example: be able to say that a perpendicular bisector passes through the midpoint of a segment at a right angle, so logically it can locate the midpoint of a segment and make a 90 degree angle.
Useful for constructions: mathopenref.com
scroll down to the subtitle "constructions". Then select one of the constructions above.
Several students have not yet made up or re-tested the last unit test. They need to come Monday or Wednesday next week during A & E to my room to do so.
In order to retest, you must turn in all late work for the unit (HW 4-10) and come by and go over your previous test with me.
